Google Transparency Report

Victoria Ipri highlighted a great insight about Google on her blog. Seems as part of Google’s commitment to transparency they have created an intereactive map of government requests. The map “shows the number of government inquiries for information about users and requests for Google to take down or censor content.” The map itself is still a work in progress but Google will “continue to improve this tool and fine-tune the types of data we display.” You can see that Brazil and the US have both been very active.

On the same site you can see traffic reports for all their services. This will show outages and government requests in line graph form. All data is normalized and scaled from 0 – 100.
